One of the first things that I planned to do on my recent vacation to Savannah, Ga., was go on a ghost tour. I know it sounds hokey and cheesy, but I always loved hearing and reading ghost stories, and have recently become addicted to ghost hunting reality TV shows.
So a trip to what’s been called America’s most haunted city would naturally (or supernaturally) be incomplete without indulging in that aspect of what Savannah has to offer.
In the early stages of my planning I used my satellite internet to research haunted Savannah hot spots, including the Moon River Brewing Company, where employers have spotted a dark hooded figure and silverware spinning above tables.
I found a great pub tour that included the establishment and my friend and I went on it one night we were there. But unfortunately the only spirits we saw on it were alcohol.
The next night we also went on a regular old walking ghost tour around and through the squares of the historic district of downtown. I took lots of pictures and caught what I thought may have been floating orbs of light, but I concluded the next day under closer inspection that they were merely dust particles in the air.
Forget the Ghost Tour. Go buy the house that the famous author, Ilona Andrews, has up for sale! Oh wait. That's in Atlanta. Never mind. Go for the ghosts.
ReplyDeleteAtlanta!
ReplyDeleteSavannah would be better for ya. You'd just get in trouble in Atlanta.
What trouble are you talking about?
You know what trouble I's talkin' 'bout. I's talking 'bout Mr. Ashley Wilkes. He'll be comin' to Atlanta when he gets his leave, and you sittin' there waitin' for him, just like a spider. He belongs to Miss Melanie...
You go pack my things like Mother said.
